Senior Data Specialist (BI & Dashboard development) Utrecht • Valcon

As a Senior BI Specialist, you take ownership of designing and developing powerful dashboards and front-end reporting solutions — mainly in Power BI. You collaborate closely with business stakeholders and data engineers to translate requirements into visual insights, guide the setup of BI environments in complex organizations, and coach junior colleagues to raise the bar.

Your focus is not just on visuals — but on impact. You ensure our clients can make data-informed decisions at every level

• Design, develop, and refine dashboards and reports, primarily using Power BI.
• Translate complex business challenges into clear, intuitive, and actionable insights.
• Apply data storytelling and visualization best practices to guide decision-making, both in operational teams as for senior executives.
• Configure and advise on Power BI environments in large-scale organizations.
• Guide conversations with stakeholders on metrics/kpi trees, insights flows and business needs.
• Coach and mentor junior BI specialists and consultants.
• Act as a sparring partner for both clients and project teams.
• Help develop Valcon’s internal frameworks, standards, best practices and solutions.
• Be an active contributor to the Valcon Business Intelligence & Dashboard Development Community.
