Industrial Lubrication Technician -
Amsterdam, Full-time (Day Shift) – Keep our plant running smoothly!

Do you enjoy hands-on work and are you passionate about ensuring equipment reliability and preventing breakdowns through proactive maintenance? If you're safety-conscious, detail-oriented, and ready to get your hands a little greasy, we are looking for you!

We're looking for a dedicated Lubrication Technician to join our maintenance team and play a critical role in keeping our soybean processing plant operating at peak performance. In this role, you will focus on the lubrication of our equipment, ensuring its reliability and longevity. You will be part of a collaborative team, committed to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.

The Soybean Factory in Amsterdam: What we do (and why it's cool)

Our soybean plant in the Amsterdam harbor is a lively hub of activity. We take soybeans shipped all the way from Brazil, South America, Canada, and Ukraine and transform them into soybean oil and soy meal. Think giant ships, siwertells unloading beans, towering silos, a crush site and a refinery —it's a pretty impressive operation! Join us and become part of this global supply chain. As a Lubrication Technician, you'll be directly involved in keeping this operation running.

Your Day-to-Day

As a Lubrication Technician, you'll be responsible for ensuring that our machinery is properly lubricated, contributing to the overall health and efficiency of the plant. You'll spend your time on the plant floor, working directly with the equipment and making a tangible difference.

  • Lubrication Expert: Apply lubricants to machinery based on schedules, equipment requirements, and best practices. This includes selecting the correct greases and oils.
  • Visual Inspections: Regularly inspect equipment for signs of lubrication issues, wear, or damage, reporting any concerns to the maintenance team.
  • Lubricant Management: Assist in managing lubricant inventory, ensuring proper storage and handling practices to prevent contamination and waste.
  • Cleanliness is Key: Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to strict safety and food safety standards.
  • Improvement Mindset: Identify opportunities to improve lubrication practices and equipment reliability. Share your ideas and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Safety First: Follow all safety procedures and protocols, contributing to a safe and secure working environment.
  • Contribute to Continuous Improvement: We value your input. Share your insights and expertise to help us improve our maintenance processes and identify potential problems before they occur. Your ideas are essential to enhancing the reliability and efficiency of our plant.
  • Professional development: The world of industrial mechanics is constantly evolving. We will provide opportunities for you to stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and techniques, including training on our specialized equipment.

What your manager has to say about the role

"If you're someone who enjoys hands-on work, isn't afraid to get a little grease on your hands, and takes pride in keeping equipment running smoothly, this role is for you. Every day brings a new set of challenges – from optimizing lubrication schedules to spotting potential issues before they become problems. Our plant may have some history, but that just means there are endless opportunities to improve our lubrication practices and make a real difference. Your observations and ideas will be valued. The team here is fantastic – diverse, down-to-earth, and always working together to make things better. It's a place where the industrial environment feels like home."

What we're looking for in you
  • Hands-On Experience: At least 1 year of experience as a maintenance technician, lubrication technician, or similar role, ideally in a (food) manufacturing environment or a similar industry with heavy machinery. Experience working on cranes, forklifts, trucks, or similar heavy equipment can also qualify as fitting.
  • Lubrication Knowledge: Knowledge of different types of oils and greases, their applications, and proper lubrication techniques. Familiarity with lubricant storage management and safety compliance.
  • Mechanical Aptitude: Basic mechanical knowledge of rotating equipment (bearings, shafts, pumps). Comfortably performing basic visual inspections of machinery.
  • Safety Conscious: A strong commitment to personal safety and food safety practices.
  • Detail-Oriented: Able to work in a clean, tidy, and organized manner.
  • Team Player: Able to work effectively with other members of the maintenance team.
  • Proactive and Eager to Learn: A desire to learn new skills and improve your knowledge of lubrication techniques.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English (Dutch is a plus).
  • Bonus Points: MLT I (Machinery Lubrication Technician Level I) certification is a plus. A background as a car mechanic or truck mechanic is also a valuable asset.
