As an order picker at Royal FloraHolland, you work at one of the largest flower auctions in the world. You are responsible for moving flowers and plants using an electric tug. These products are placed on carts, which you transport to the correct locations based on instructions you receive via a headset or a terminal, depending on the department you work in.

Please note: You will be randomly assigned to different departments, which means you may also be placed in the cold storage area. The cold storage is obviously colder than the rest of the warehouse, but we provide you with a warm jacket and gloves so you can work comfortably. The work process is the same as regular order picking; the only difference is that you work in a colder environment.

Departments

• In the flowers department, you work with a voice-controlled headset. It is trained to recognize your voice and provides spoken instructions on where you need to go in the warehouse.

• In the plants department, you work with a terminal. The screen shows you exactly which carts to pick up and where to deliver them.

After delivering the cart to the correct location, you check that everything is correct and continue with the next task.

Your Workday

Your workday starts every morning at 6:00 AM. After clocking in, you begin with a team briefing. During this briefing, your team leader discusses the most important points of the day, such as safety instructions, improvement points, and any special notes.

After the briefing:

1. You check the screen to see approximately what time you will finish that day (between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM) and how many carts are assigned to you.

2. You put on your headset or log into your terminal, depending on your department.

3. You hop on your electric tug and get to work!

You receive clear instructions on which carts to move and to which locations. In the huge halls of Royal FloraHolland, you follow the numbered locations to find your way. For each cart, you scan the barcode, move it to the designated spot, and then scan the location barcode to complete the task.

✅ A starting salary of €16,04 gross per hour

✅ Travel allowance of €0.23 per kilometre from 5 km one way
