Are you a driven and results-oriented professional with sharp commercial acumen and strong operational leadership skills? Olleco Bunge is looking for a General Manager who, with a hands-on mentality and an owner's mindset, will elevate our Diemen depot to the next level. You will be the driving force behind our growth and efficiency, leading a small but vital team and playing a crucial role in our mission to serve the planet.

About Olleco Bunge Olleco Bunge, a 50/50 joint venture between Bunge and Olleco, is dedicated to a sustainable oil cycle. We collaborate with the hospitality and food industry across Europe to supply oils and ensure that used cooking oil (UCO) is efficiently collected as a raw material for the production of renewable fuels. We offer innovative solutions that contribute to environmental and energy security challenges. The Diemen location operates as a start-up/scale-up environment, offering ample scope for personal initiative and significant impact.

The Role As General Manager for our Olleco Bunge depot in Diemen, you will be the linchpin of our operation. You will be fully responsible for the entire P&L and manage daily operations with a commercial focus and a keen eye for cost control. You are a natural leader who directly manages the team of drivers and support staff, and you are not afraid to roll up your sleeves and get involved in every aspect of building and growing the business.

A little more about your responsibilities:

• Operational Leadership & Fleet Management:
  • Direct management, coaching, and development of the driver team (currently 3-4 vehicles), ensuring optimal efficiency and adherence to procedures.
  • Planning, coordinating, and supervising multi-drop deliveries and collection routes.
  • Optimizing fleet utilization and fleet management, including renting additional vans when needed.
  • Developing and implementing strong and efficient logistics processes that facilitate growth.
  • Ensuring safety is always paramount in all operational activities.
• Financial Management & Cost Control:
  • Full responsibility for "cash in" and "cash out" processes, with a focus on profitability.
  • Proactive and rigorous cost control across the board, including labor costs, depot costs, and supply costs.
  • Continuously identifying savings opportunities and optimizing operational efficiency.
  • Weekly financial reporting and using customer and operational data to spot opportunities and increase efficiencies.
• Commercial & Customer Focus:
  • Increasing Olleco Bunge's market share in the Netherlands through organic growth via multiple channels.
  • Working closely with the Sales Manager to support growth projects and lay a strong foundation for the future.
  • Customer satisfaction is your first priority; you ensure an unparalleled customer experience.
  • Actively communicating with customers, including small to medium-sized restaurants and hotels, and building lasting relationships.
  • Creating and developing unique selling propositions (USPs) to stay ahead of the competition.
• Business Development & Growth Initiative:
  • Actively contribute to the establishment and strategic development of the business, adopting an ownership mindset to drive expansion.
  • Embrace a 'wear multiple hats' approach, tackling diverse tasks and projects critical for building and scaling the operation.

What we expect from you (Your profile):

• Experience & Background:
  • Demonstrable management experience in a similar hands-on, operational, and commercial role.
  • Strong background in (road) transport, fleet management, and customer supply, preferably in multi-drop delivery.
  • Experience from service-oriented industries with similar fleet sizes and distribution models is a significant plus, such as laundry companies, beer deliveries, food services, or waste management. People from these areas often have a commercial understanding of a similar business.
  • Proven track record in delivering results within a commercial/logistics role.
  • Experience in growing a business organically via multiple channels.
• Skills & Personality:
  • A proactive, assertive, and results-oriented individual with strong drive and the mindset to "act like the owner."
  • Strong leadership skills to motivate, develop, and inspire a team to exceptional performance (including talent and succession planning).
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively communicate with the team, customers, and stakeholders. Knowing how to talk with customers.
  • Flexible, comfortable with a wide range of tasks, and able to adapt quickly in a dynamic environment.
  • Analytically strong and skilled in using data to identify business opportunities and improve efficiency.
• Languages & Location:
  • Excellent command of both Dutch and English, in speech and writing.
  • Ideally located near our office in Diemen (Verrijn Stuartweg 95, Diemen).
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to our other office in Oud Gastel (Standerdmolen 8a, North Brabant) should they need support.
