The financial controller is responsible for all aspects of financial accounting and finance & control. You are an expert in the field of finance & control and focus on the annual accounts, financial reports, internal control framework and control measures. You support in ensuring compliance with all financial laws and regulations and you are jointly responsible for managing the various audits and internal control processes. You also act as a sparring partner for the various business controllers, business departments and management.

Key Responsibilities
– Realize accurate and timely close processes and the preparation of reporting in accordance with GAAP standards
– Maintain a robust balance sheet dossier by making optimal use of Tagetik Account Reconciliation & Transaction Matching
– Own the inputs of your entities and business teams for financial cycles such as financial reporting cycle, closing cycle and audit cycle
– Guide and coach accounting functions for ensuring compliance with GAAP standards
– Drive business performance by supporting business teams (part of domain and/or supportive on other domains) on monthly performance and decision making
– Establish internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR), conduct and perform hotel visits and assess internal controls to ensure financial integrity and compliance
– Drive data analytics and automation through digital tooling such as Tagetik and PowerBI
– Working with the business control teams to assure smooth month-end closing processes
– Support complex accounting issues and partnering on technical assessments to ensure all accounting-related items are completed
– Support citizenM’s finance strategy and identify opportunities for improvements, standardization and best practice implementation

Qualifications / skills
– Msc in auditing & control / finance & accounting
– Experience in auditing & control and/or finance & accounting (Big 4 experience and familiarity with IFRS is an advantage).
Keep a broad overview, whilst no detail is too small and it’s possible to maintain structure, organization and the ability to work under pressure.
– Skilled communicator, ability to communicate on various levels and with different stakeholders.
– Really care about working as part of a team
– Preferably familiar with Microsoft Business Central 365, Power BI, Tagetik
– Passionate entrepreneur – proactive, flexible and independent.

Location:
– Voorschoten Support Office. Hybrid working is possivle, on average twice a week in the office. No fully remote.
