For the EU Agency, we are looking for an HR Lawyer to support the Human Resources Unit with legal and administrative matters related to employment law!

What are you going to do?

Role summary:

The purpose of this position is to provide day-to-day legal and administrative support to the Human Resources Unit, focusing on employment law and civil service law matters.

The duties of the role are performed under the supervision, guidance, and support of a Temporary Agent (AD).

This position does not involve management or supervision of staff or budgetary resources.

Standard role duties & responsibilities:

  • Prepare summaries, notes, and briefings on employment law and civil service law topics, particularly in relation to the Staff Regulations of Officials of the European Union (EUSR) and the Conditions of Employment of Other Servants (CEOS).
  • Conduct case law research and legal analysis on the relevant EU legal framework and best practices in employment and civil service law.
  • Support the management of HR-related legal files, keeping track of pending cases, deadlines, and requests.
  • Provide assistance in running HR processes, ensuring compliance with the applicable legal framework.
  • Manage common mailboxes and filing systems efficiently.
  • Perform any other duties within the scope of the role as required.
What do we offer?

A fulltime, temporary 6 months contract from 20-11-2025 until 19-05-2026 (with possible extension of 6 months).

Salary range:

  • 4,812.17 gross per month/27,76 gross per hour (5 years of experience)
  • 5,444.73 gross per month /31,41 gross per hour (5 - 17 years of experience)
  • 6,970.17 gross per month /40,21 gross per hour (17 years of experience or more)

What do we ask?

Education

  • A completed university degree in Law, attested by a diploma, with a minimum duration of three years.

Experience

  • Preferably 3 years of professional experience in legal work related to employment law or civil service law.
  • Experience providing legal advice on EUSR/CEOS or similar staff regulations.
  • Experience in drafting legal documents or acts.
  • Experience working in environments requiring a high degree of discretion and confidentiality.
  • Experience in an international and multidisciplinary environment.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Excellent command of English (C1 level or higher) according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
  • Excellent drafting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and internet use.
  • High level of professionalism, flexibility, and service orientation.
  • Strong organisational and administrative abilities.
  • Ability to act with discretion and confidentiality.
  • Able to work well both independently and within a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of liaising effectively with internal departments and external partners.
  • Capacity to perform effectively in an international and multicultural environment.
