Resolve automation issues during production

Overview

• Incident response involves promptly identifying, analyzing, resolving, and documenting issues and system disruptions to maintain optimal performance and minimize downtime, which includes taking part in standby/on-call duty during non-business hours.
• Standby duty will be one full week including weekends every 5 weeks, including nights and weekends, which will of course be fairly compensated. Almost all issues that come up during the standby ours can be resolved remotely.

Detailed tasks

• Analyze, respond to, document and close incident tickets managed by the plant maintenance platform (SAP-PM)
• Perform root-cause analyses and implementing appropriate corrective/preventative actions to prevent incident recurrence and minimize downtime.
• Participating in continuous improvement initiatives related to the incident and problem management processes.

Assist in computerized system projects

Overview

Participate in cross-functional teams to ensure timely and high-quality completion of computerized system projects and changes.

Detailed tasks

• Assist in designing, implementing, and maintaining computerized systems for the pharmaceutical manufacturing facility.
• Collaborate with other departments in change controls, CAPAs or other improvement projects to ensure the computerized systems meet internal and regulatory requirements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to computerized systems, including hardware and software problems.
• Conduct testing and validation of the computerized systems to ensure they function correctly.
• Train staff members on the use of computerized systems.
• Program software code that meets the desired requirements and specifications for the computerized systems.

Maintaining and troubleshooting automation systems

Overview

Ensure the smooth operation of automation systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), distributed control systems (DCS), human-machine interfaces (HMIs), and other industrial control systems within the facility.

Detailed tasks

• Perform corrective and/or preventative maintenance tasks on computerized systems, such as PLCs, SCADAs, DCS, and HMIs.
• Create or order specific parts for modifications through the work planner.
• Write or revise manuals and operating instructions.
• Developing software programs in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
• Detecting software issues and proposing solutions.

GxP

• Has a broad and in-depth understanding of existing and emerging regulatory GxP requirements within own field of expertise.
• Manages or advises on SOPs, GxP deviations and change control.
• Takes GxP requirements very serious during preparation, execution and reporting of GxP activities.

Your profile:

• Bachelor's degree in industrial automation, IT, or a related field.
• At least two years of experience, pharma/GMP regulated environment highly preferred
• A strong understanding of control systems engineering principles and knowledge of PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), SCADA systems, and DCS (Distributed Control Systems).
• Strong understanding of general GMP guidelines and knowledge of ISPE GAMP 5, 21 CFR Part 11, EudraLex volume 4 annexe 11, and other relevant pharmaceutical industry regulations.
• A good understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, including formulation, filling, packaging, and sterilization, as well as the ability to read and interpret process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
• Proficiency in programming languages, such as Ladder Logic, Structured Text, or Function Block Diagrams, and experience with industrial automation software (e.g., Siemens, ABB, or Rockwell).
• Understanding of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Ethernet/IP, or PROFIBUS) and familiarity with networking concepts and equipment.
• Demonstrate ownership to complete all assigned work with high-quality and in time, escalating in time to get support where needed.
• Ability to work create good working relationships within the automation team, and cross-functionally with production, engineering, QA and others.
