In this dual role you’ll work seamlessly together with our current sector manager textile. Do you have experience within product management, whole sale (buying & merchandising), supply chain and with a focus on textile, handicrafts and/or interior?
Then this is your opportunity to make a real difference by empowering ambitious entrepreneurs in building a structurally better future for themselves and their communities; socially, ecologically and economically.

We are PUM

All around the world, local communities are flourishing. Powered by the passion and expertise of entrepreneurs who dedicate themselves to making a real difference each day. At PUM our goal is to amplify and accelerate the positive impact they make, building a structurally better future for their community: socially, ecologically and economically. With over 1,200 volunteers, who are sharing their professional expertise in more than 30 countries, PUM drives local positive impact on a global scale. We believe in the power of collaboration. In the fusion of expertise and altruism, and in the magic that happens when diverse perspectives meet. Together we grow.

Who are you?

You are an experienced people manager with a strong international background in textiles, handicrafts, and interior, covering areas such as wholesale, supply chain, buying, and merchandising. You also have hands-on insight into common supply chain challenges, for example from importing products yourself.

  • You are experienced in managing diverse teams, fostering collaboration and achieving results.

  • You have experience within the textile, handicrafts & interior industry and demonstrate a strong affinity with SMEs and entrepreneurship.

  • You are an authentic, resilient, modest and dynamic professional with a strong intercultural sensitivity.

  • You are passionate about driving sector development and eager to share fresh perspectives.

  • You have excellent command of the English language; proficiency in French and/or Spanish is advantageous.

  • You are independent, pro-active and digitally savvy, comfortable with using new digital tools.

Being a PUM Sector Manager

As a sector manager at PUM, your role as people manager is pivotal. You’re not merely managing; you’re orchestrating positive change. By motivating, coaching, leading, and inspiring your pool of experts, you’ll empower SMEs to thrive in their respective markets. What does the role of sector manager involve?  You’ll be actively engaged with the PUM organisation, averaging two days a week, often spread across multiple days. This includes regularly checking and responding to emails, having intake meetings (on Teams) with clients and addressing any urgent matters that may arise. This role is a “duo role”, meaning you will share responsibility for the sector with another sector manager allowing you to divide the work and back each other up when necessary. Your responsibilities include:

  • Interviewing and selecting new experts for your sector.

  • Assessing requests from clients and matching the clients and projects with experts.

  • Engaging with experts throughout their projects and providing guidance before and after project execution.

  • Guiding experts to champion PUM’s strategy within your sector.

  • The possibility of doing a project on location as an expert once or twice a year (this can also be in another sector).

  • Engaging in knowledge exchange, expanding the network, participating in training programs and organizing events like sector days.
