As a Strategic Buyer, you are responsible for developing and executing category and supplier strategies within a technical environment. You combine market analysis and cost awareness with stakeholder management and support innovation projects to make the supply chain future-proof.

Description

Responsibilities of a Strategic Buyer:

• Develop, improve, and implement category and supplier strategies within assigned product groups.
• Assist in preparing the supply chain for new product developments in collaboration with innovation and engineering teams.
• Support New Product Industrialisation (NPI) projects by achieving purchasing goals on time while meeting quality, logistics, and cost targets.
• Prepare cost models, conduct market and price analyses, and advise on improvement measures.
• Manage supplier relationships and actively contribute to Supplier Relationship Management within assigned categories.
• Monitor supplier performance in terms of quality, logistics, technology, and cost, and initiate improvement plans.
• Coordinate with local operational purchasing and quality departments to ensure a well-functioning chain.
• Contribute to innovation projects and ensure the supply chain is ready for future growth.

Profile

What we are looking for in a Strategic Buyer:

• Completed HBO or WO degree in a relevant technical or business-related field (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering & Management).
• Several years of experience in strategic purchasing, preferably in a technically oriented environment.
• Knowledge of supply chain processes and affinity with technical project planning.
• Strong analytical skills, experience with ERP systems (SAP is a plus), and the ability to translate data into strategic actions.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
• Experience with stakeholder management and working in multicultural, multidisciplinary teams.
• Immediate availability for a 40-hour workweek.

• Competitive salary between €4,400 and €6,200 per month, depending on experience.
