We’re looking for an experienced Senior Android Engineer to help drive engagement and enhance a mobile app experience. In this role you would join a multi-platform product team focused on increasing weekly active users and improving overall app performance, stability, and usability. Your work will directly influence how customers interact with the platform — ensuring every session is faster, smarter, and more engaging. Your responsibilites are among others: 

• Build and refine high-quality Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose;
• Collaborate closely with designers, product owners, and backend engineers to deliver seamless user experiences;
• Tackle technical debt and contribute to migrating towards a graph-based architecture;
• Implement new features that increase engagement, consistency, and trust;
• Participate in technical interviews and help assess engineering quality within the team;
• Continuously look for improvements in performance, architecture, and developer experience.

Gevraagd

• 8+ years of hands-on Android development experience;
• Deep expertise in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose (these are must-haves);
• Strong understanding of coroutines and asynchronous programming;
• Experience with GraphQL (nice-to-have);
• Proven experience working on high-traffic B2C or e-commerce applications;
• Ability to think and act solution-oriented — you don’t just identify problems; you fix them;
• Excellent communication skills and flexibility to adapt to different team environments;
• Currently based in the Netherlands and working here for at least 2 years.

Aanbod

The start date for this temporary position is as soon as possible for the period of 6 months, with very strong emphasis on extending for another 6 months in 2026. The employer is offering a full-time engagement of 40 hours per week. The monthly salary ranges between €6,000 and €7,500, depending on experience and qualifications. Are you interested?
