Financial Controller | Fully remote | Interim

Summary

For an international client, we are looking for an interim Financial Controller.
Fully remote | 32–40 hours per week | Start approx. middle of November| 6 months with potential of extension | Max. rate: €80 (all-in ex. VAT)


The role

One of the subsidiaries of a globally operating organization is temporarily seeking reinforcement in the area of financial control. The focus lies on independently managing the full financial administration, leading a small team of accountants, and ensuring timely and accurate month-end closings. The company operates in multiple countries, so knowledge of Dutch laws and regulations is essential.

As a Financial controller, you are responsible for managing and monitoring the company’s financial activities for one or more companies. You will work closely with the finance team and report directly to the Group Accounting and Reporting Lead.


Tasks and responsibilities

Your tasks and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Processing and monitoring financial transactions, including:

  • Coordinate invoice and employee expense processing, ensuring correct VAT coding and GL booking, and liaising with budget owners for approvals
  • Oversee daily posting and reconciliation of transactions across operational, billing, savings and guarantee accounts.
  • Prepare monthly payroll accounting entries and reconciliations in collaboration with HR and Group Finance

Maintaining and controlling the financial accounting, including general ledger accounts, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.

Prepare monthly management reporting packs, including cost centre and country-level analysis, and support budgeting and forecasting activities

Annual financial statements preparation under BE GAAP.

Support regulatory and statistical reporting for NBB and DNB, including calculations for foreign branches and permanent establishments.

Branch / Permanent Establishment reporting.

Performing financial analyses and providing insightful reports to management.

Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations (VAT, payroll, bank, accruals, intercompany) and support internal control improvements

Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and procedures.

Coordinating and supporting internal and external audits.

Managing the tax process and ensuring timely and accurate tax filings.

Managing the VAT process and ensuring timely and accurate VAT filings.

Identifying and implementing process improvements to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the finance function.


Profile
  • Experience within a Big 4 firm
  • Proven experience with BE GAAP
  • Your English is fluent in writing and speech on a professional level
  • Experience with external audits and month-end closings
  • Proactive, accurate, and strong communication skills
  • Familiar with Exact Online and preferably also Bob50
