You will become part of a multidisciplinary team working on groundbreaking projects that shape the future of modern shipbuilding.The RoleAre you an expert in marine piping systems, ready to take the lead in complex engineering projects?We are looking for a Lead Engineer Marine Piping Systems for a temporary, project-based assignment in the Netherlands.In this role, you will be responsible for the design, engineering, and integration of sophisticated piping systems for next-generation vessels. You will collaborate closely with internal engineering departments, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure technical excellence and full compliance throughout all project phases.Key ResponsibilitiesAs Lead Engineer Marine Piping Systems, you will:• Analyse and interpret technical specifications for piping systems across multiple shipbuilding projects.• Develop and model both basic and detailed engineering packages using 2D and 3D CAD tools.• Coordinate and supervise external engineering partners to ensure quality and compliance with company and class standards.• Advise stakeholders on technical improvements, cost efficiency, and system optimization.• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental requirements at all times.• Mentor and coach junior engineers, sharing expertise and promoting continuous improvement.• Collaborate across disciplines to guarantee smooth integration of piping systems into overall vessel design.• Independently manage complex engineering deliverables and perform detailed technical reviews.Functie-eisen
To succeed in this role, you bring:• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.• 3+ years of experience in piping systems engineering within shipbuilding, offshore, or similar industries.• Proven proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD tools, with hands-on experience designing complex piping layouts.• Experience managing subcontractors and validating outsourced engineering deliverables.• Strong understanding of statutory and classification regulations for marine piping systems.• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.• Fluency in English (Dutch or German is an advantage).• Solid professional references — note that security clearance will be part of the selection process.• EU citizenship and passport are mandatory due to the nature of the projects.
