Job Title: Senior Technician – Viral Analytical Technologies

Role Summary

We’re seeking a seasoned Senior Technician with a strong background in virus-related analytical methods to support analytical development activities for complex biologics and viral products.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for executing a variety of biophysical and biochemical assays to characterize viral particles, monitor aggregation behavior, and support process and product understanding. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, detail-oriented technician who can quickly integrate into an established lab environment and deliver high-quality analytical results under minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine and non-routine analytical testing on viral vectors, vaccines, and related biologics.
• Execute and troubleshoot assays such as:
• Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS)
• Nanoparticle Tracking Analysis (NTA)
• qPCR / ddPCR for viral genome quantification
• Protein concentration and purity assays (e.g., UV, SDS-PAGE, Western blot)
• Chromatographic analyses (SEC, HPLC)
• Support the qualification, transfer, and optimization of analytical methods.
• Ensure accurate documentation, data integrity, and adherence to internal quality standards.
• Collaborate closely with Scientists and other Technicians within Analytical Development and Process Development.
• Maintain laboratory instruments and ensure compliance with GMP / GLP requirements.

Profile Requirements

• Bachelor’s or HBO degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or Life Sciences.
• 5+ years of hands-on lab experience in analytical testing of biologics or viral products.
• Solid understanding of virus particle analysis and associated analytical techniques.
• Strong practical experience with DLS, NTA, and chromatographic systems.
• Experience working in a regulated biotech or pharmaceutical environment.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
• Flexible, proactive, and capable of quickly adapting to new analytical platforms and methods.
