We are looking for a motivated third-year or fourth-year student HBO/WO level in Law, Business Analytics, Tax & Supply Chain Management! Welcome to our team
The Trade Compliance department has a key function in our supply chain organization. Trade Compliance has a front row seat in at what is happening in the world (e.g. Sanctions & Tariffs).
Our responsibility is that our goods are imported and exported effectively & compliantly to 120 countries. The team in Netherlands consists of 4 people, all of whom have extensive knowledge and experience in supply chain management & trade compliance. The team works closely with other Tax, Finance, Planning & Logistics to ensure that our products are provided to the patients.
Your responsibilities
- Research and Assist Trade compliance projects
- Understand EU import and export laws and regulations and how they apply to a global pharmaceutical company
- Verify our processes & internal controls.
- Assist import and export staff with daily shipment compliance reviews
- Providing a fresh perspective to the department by sharing your opinion.
The tasks described form the basic package and will often be performed independently after a proper training and learning period. These tasks may be supplemented with other projects and/or tasks on your own initiative or at the request of the organization.
Although we are open to other research initiative, below are example projects that could be considered:
Internship Project ‘Trade Compliance Data analytics’
Trade Compliance is responsible for monitoring the import and export flows worldwide. Currently, this department is transitioning from an operational to a strategic department. In order to support the transition, it is important to have full visibility and control into our supply chain flows.
Project objection
Improve usage of internal and external data sources could be improved to gain new insights and simplify our internal control procedures.
This will include the following:
- Determine a Status Quo, by reviewing all the current excel files usages and how these align to the operational processes.
- Identify and research databases
- Analyze the data contained in those databases (e.g. import and export)
- Create dashboards that can show the key data elements
- Suggest / Develop simplifications and/or other DIY solutions
Internship Project ‘Designing Operational and Compliance Control Framework
Trade Compliance is critical to manage regulatory, financial, and reputational risk as companies import, export, and move goods across borders.
Project objective
This project will assess the current trade compliance environment, design or enhance a formal control framework that separates and integrates operational controls (day-to-day procedures and transactional checks) and compliance controls (policy, governance, monitoring and assurance), and produce clear process documentation, risk-based control matrices, and recommendations for remediation and automation.

What is required
- An HBO of MSc student working toward a BS/BA in Tax, Law, International Trade, Supply Chain or International Business or an MBA in Tax, Law, International Trade, Supply Chain or International Business
- Energetic, curious and a communicator
- Excellent research and analytic skills
- Ability to work independently in a team environment
- Strong MS Office software skills
- Not afraid of Laws and Regulations
- You are searching for an internship where you have the freedom to take initiative
- You are fluent in English
- You are available for a period of minimal 6 months for 4-5 days a week
