The Chemicals lab in is one of the Manufacturing Production Quality (MPQ) labs that performs analysis of plant-samples in Terneuzen. Chemicals lab in Terneuzen currently consists of the divisions Chemicals and Ecology. This role is for the full shift in the Chemicals lab which is part of the manufacturing labs in Terneuzen. The chemicals lab supports the manufacturing operations such as Polyurethanes, Polyglycols, Ethylene Oxide and R&D.

The analytical technician conducts laboratory analyses, as needed, which provide critical data. Prepares samples, performs preventive maintenance of laboratory instrumentation and uses data systems to acquire data. Reports results to the client. Requires established basic laboratory skills to perform a range of routine lab activities using existing standard operating procedures and/or analytical/ scientific methods. You are responsible for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of analytical results that support product quality and process performance. You maintain and verify the precision of analytical equipment and perform analyses on products and raw materials according to standard test procedures and sampling plans. You provide analytical support to plant operations during start-up, shutdown, and turnarounds. Quality and process control data are recorded, analyzed, and reported in the LIMS database. In addition, you lead laboratory improvement projects to enhance productivity and reliability through method optimization and automation, and you implement and validate the performance of new analytical equipment.

Your responsibilities will be:

Ensure service requests are accurately run, and the data returned as per sample plan.
Analytical equipment operations and troubleshooting as per procedures.
Provide input of quality data into LIMS, document and communicate results.
Perform calibration and first line-maintenance of analytical equipment. Document/administrate these maintenance activities. Communicate maintenance work when required.
Apply Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S), Analytical Work Process and Operating Discipline/Quality System procedures and practices as well as cGMP/pharma standards.
Participating in and completing of laboratory training and corporate required trainings.
Co-operate and communicate with co-workers and clients to maintain workflow and instrumental information, and to share and leverage problem solving and prevention expertise.
Contribute to value creation by continuous improvement of procedures in the analytical work processes and related tools and performance metrics.
Promote a well-organized, responsive, efficient workplace and work well both as a team member and independently.

Dit zoeken we in onze Analytical Technician bij DOW

MBO 4 laboratory education or similar is required. Bachelors (HBO/HLO) preferred.
At least 3 years experience in an industrial laboratory (analytical).
Good lab techniques, methodical record keeping, and the ability to work both independently and with co-workers are required.
Able to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure.
Fluent in English (fluency in Dutch is preferred)
VCA-VOL, or willing to get it
Able to work in full shift: morning, afternoon and night shifts in a roster that reoccurs every 16 weeks
