This is your chance to take the lead of a well-established international logistics organization and guide it into its next phase of commercial growth and operational excellence. From air and ocean freight to warehousing solutions, you will manage the full spectrum of logistics services in Belgium. You will shape strategy, drive results and inspire people around you. We are looking for a strong and authentic leader who combines business acumen with a hands-on mentality. A person who takes initiative, gets involved and shows others how it is done, both in the office and out in the market.

As General Manager Forwarding, you will lead a team of around 30 professionals across multiple disciplines. You will balance strategic direction with daily operational oversight and ensure the Belgian business delivers both strong results and a great employee experience.

Strategic and Commercial Leadership

• Lead and execute the country strategy in line with global and regional goals.
• Grow the business by winning new customers and expanding key accounts.
• Represent the company at international events, agents and client meetings.
• Build lasting partnerships across the global network and regional offices.

Financial and Operational Accountability

• Take full Profit&Loss ownership for Belgium, including budgeting and cost control.
• Set and monitor clear KPIs for sales, profit and productivity.
• Review results, report accurately and act when targets are missed.
• Ensure compliance with all company and legal standards.
• Safeguard operational excellence by monitoring workflows, service quality and customer satisfaction.

Leadership and Development

• Lead, coach and motivate a team of around 30 people.
• Build trust and empower others to perform at their best.
• Foster collaboration between Belgium and international offices.
• Create a culture of accountability, energy and initiative.

Continuous Improvement and Innovation

• Simplify processes and drive efficiency across departments.
• Use digital tools to improve visibility and performance.
• Champion innovation and a customer-first mindset.
   

Gevraagd

You are an experienced logistics professional who leads with both heart and head. You are commercially sharp, financially aware and confident in complex international environments.

• Based in Belgium and fluent in the Dutch, French and English language.
• 10+ years of experience in freight forwarding or logistics, including several years in a management role.
• Proven success leading teams of 20 to 40 people.
• Strong understanding of air, sea and warehousing operations.
• Solid financial insight with experience in budgeting, P&L and reporting.
• Hands-on, communicative and naturally trusted by your team.
• Willing to travel frequently to clients, agents and international offices.
