FunctieomschrijvingJoin Philips Innovation Engineering and accelerate the future of innovation in medical devices and complex systems.
Are you a passionate Systems Engineer with a strong background in Mechatronics and Manufacturing Systems? Do you thrive on solving complex, real-world technical challenges and transforming user needs into reliable, high-quality product designs?
At Philips Innovation Engineering, you'll be a key player in a multidisciplinary team of world-class technical experts. Your expertise will directly drive the growth of our organization by delivering high-impact (sub-)system designs that meet both exacting user needs and critical business objectives, especially within the challenging and rewarding domain of medical devices.
As a Systems Engineer, you will actively contribute across the entire product development lifecycle, partnering with a Senior Systems Engineer to execute all phases of the V-model. Your core responsibilities will focus on ensuring design quality through rigorous Design Control and the application of Design for Six Sigma (DfSS) methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute and oversee system architecture design and implementation within the R&D group, from initial concept through to commercial launch, ensuring strict compliance with regulatory standards.
- Contribute to the full spectrum of Requirements Engineering, including collection, analysis, review, system partitioning, and integration, all based on best practices. You will draw up design requirements and produce detailed specifications.
- Lead internal investigations into complex technical complaints and system integration issues. You will drive root cause analysis (Anomaly Analysis), reproduce issues, identify effective solutions, and implement robust preventive actions.
- Lead risk management activities and collaborate on system test planning. Drive a clear Design for Quality focus, including project aftercare, leveraging DfSS principles (GreenBelt certification is a plus).
- Assess system performance and reliability through experimentation and data analysis. Recommend and implement design improvements to enhance system reliability and resolve conflicting requirements, optimizing overall performance.
- Proactively engage with cross-functional teams to enhance workflows and methodologies, applying engineering tools to boost overall efficiency.
- Provide support using tools and techniques associated with Digital Engineering, including Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and simulation tools like MATLAB Simulink (highly desirable).
- A BSc or MSc degree (or equivalent) in Mechatronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 4 years of professional experience in innovative product development. Experience in medical devices and imaging is highly preferred.
- Proven experience as a Mechatronic Systems Engineer in at least one of the following domains: medical equipment, industrial automation, or high-precision mechatronics.
- Familiarity and proven experience working according to the V-model—defining requirements, creating test specifications, executing tests, and reporting results.
- A clear, demonstrable drive for Design for Quality.
- Experience with Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE) and other Model-Based Design tools.
- GreenBelt certification in Design for Six Sigma (DfSS).
Primary employment conditions:
- A good salary as per market standards.
- 13th month salary
- 8.33% holiday pay calculated over 12 monthly salaries.
- Pension Plus scheme (build-up from day 1)
- Net €750 to set up your home workplace
- 13th month (paid periodically on a pro-rata basis) or the possibility of a bonus (4 to 8% per quarter - average of 1 month's salary per year)
- 25 days of vacation per year based on 40 hours
- Travel expenses reimbursement
- Options for working from home with a home work allowance
- Yacht Academy with a training budget of up to €3,500 per year
- Referral bonuses up to €1,500
