Senior Planning Engineer Delft • Middle Point

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Planning Engineer to join a Project Control & Planning team supporting complex offshore and marine CAPEX & R&M programmes. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining schedules for major programmes, projects and work-packages, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed of progress, forecasts and resource scenarios.

Key Responsibilities

• Organise and coordinate planning activities for large and complex projects.
• Turn offer/tender schedules into clear and detailed project plans.
• Start planning for onshore work and collect input from different departments, foreign offices, and subcontractors.
• Prepare first versions of the schedule and share them internally for feedback and approval.
• Make and share important planning reports, such as bar charts, histograms, S-curves and Earned Value reports.
• Keep project schedules up to date: follow progress, adjust forecasts, and report to the project team, management, and clients.
• Work together with the senior planner to make sure all timings and durations in the schedule fit together.
• Work closely with Finance colleagues to exchange and update project information.
• Create different project scenarios and build offshore schedules and mobilisation plans.
• Set up and follow schedules for Innovation projects, CAPEX projects and repair & maintenance work (for example port calls and docking).
• Help maintain and improve the Daily Progress Report database system.
• Support the development of a system for resource planning and Earned Value management and reporting.
• Take the lead in setting up a planning system for the Innovation portfolio, including the way of working, methods, tools and procedures.

• A BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Naval Architecture or equivalent.
• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in preparing, monitoring and supporting project planning within a project-based environment (offshore/marine experience is a plus).
• Excellent knowledge of planning and scheduling techniques.
• Proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
• Familiarity with project management structures, network planning, resource planning and Earned Value management.
• Highly organised, with a hands-on approach and the ability to work independently and proactively.
• Experience with portfolio management scheduling, gate-processes and dashboard/report development (Power BI is a plus).
• Excellent command of spoken and written English.
