For one of the clients of our consultancy firm Protiviti, we are seeking experienced Security IT Auditors to support a large-scale IT security audit program at a leading technology services provider in the telecommunications sector. As a contractor (ZZP), you will work in small, specialist teams within a broader project environment to assess cyber security controls, evaluate risks, and deliver high-quality audit outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute IT security and cyber risk audits within complex technology and network environments
• Assess effectiveness of security controls across on-premises and cloud infrastructures
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather evidence, analyse risks, and document findings
• Prepare clear, structured audit reports and present results to stakeholders
• Contribute hands-on support in a dynamic, fast-paced audit project

Professional Experience

• Minimum 6 years of IT audit and security experience, ideally including Big Four or similar audit firm background
• Demonstrable experience in cyber security audits, IT risk management, and compliance
• Telecom sector experience (audit or security) is highly desirable

Skills & Competencies

• Strong expertise in IT audit across complex technology and networking environments
• Hands-on, proactive, "getting things done" mindset
• Experience with both on-premises and cloud technologies (preferred)
• Strong analytical, communication, and reporting skills
• Fluency in English required; Dutch proficiency preferred

Certifications (Preferred)

• CISSP, CISA, RE
• Additional relevant certifications (e.g., ISO 27001 Lead Auditor, CISM) are a plus.

Work Arrangement

• Hybrid: primarily on-site in Utrecht, combined with remote working

Contract Details

• Start date: Immediate
• Duration: 4 months initial term (until end of March) + Possible extension
• Hours: Full-time (40 hours)
• Engagement: Contractor / ZZP
