As a graduation student within GEOWALL, you will investigate the technical and material properties of our dyke revetment stone made from dredged material. You will identify opportunities to further develop and optimise the product. Your research may include material analysis, literature research and practical testing. You will work with colleagues to translate your findings into practical recommendations.
Your research will contribute to the further development of a circular building material. You will help GEOWALL understand how the dyke revetment stone performs and where improvements are possible. You will:
- Perfrom practical lab tests to test how well the designed structure performs in a simulated environment
- Investigate the technical properties of the dyke revetment stone
- Analyse its material properties and current composition
- Identify opportunities for further development and optimisation
- Conduct research and practical tests
- Translate your findings into recommendations for further development
You will work in Rotterdam within GEOWALL, a Van Oord company developing circular products from dredged material and other residual streams. You will work with colleagues involved in product development and application. Your research brings civil engineering, material technology and sustainability together in a dynamic start-up environment.
You are studying a Master in Civil Engineering, or another relevant study. In addition:
- You are curious and enjoy investigating how materials and technical processes work
- You like analysing research results and translating them into clear conclusions
- You work in a structured way and can take responsibility for your own research
- You enjoy working as part of a team and discussing your findings
This graduation project gives you the opportunity to apply your civil engineering knowledge to a real circular building material and contribute to its further development.
- A monthly internship allowance
- An inspiring and international workplace at our office in Rotterdam, with guidance from experienced colleagues
- Extensive development opportunities, including an extensive online learning platform via Goodhabitz
- Communities to join, such as Young Van Oord
