How You Make an Impact
As an Assistant Controller, you are responsible for maintaining an accurate and timely financial administration and supporting the preparation of financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and month-end and year-end closings. You analyze financial data, identify opportunities for improvement, and actively contribute to the further automation and optimization of financial processes.

Your Responsibilities
Managing, processing, reviewing, and analyzing financial data and administration;
Preparing and supporting management reports, dashboards, budgets, forecasts, and cost calculations;
Assisting with month-end and year-end closing activities;
Preparing VAT and ICP returns;
Preparing balance sheet and profit & loss statements;
Preparing audit files and supporting internal and external audits;
Identifying deviations and translating analyses into concrete improvement actions;
Optimizing and further automating financial reporting and administrative processes;
Contributing to improvement projects related to internal controls, efficiency, and digitalization;
Gaining insight into financial transactions within the ERP system and understanding their impact on the organization;
Collaborating closely with colleagues within Finance and other departments.
Core Tasks and Responsibilities
1. Financial Administration and Control (35%)
Assisting with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities;
Reviewing financial transactions for accuracy, completeness, and timeliness;
Identifying and correcting discrepancies within the financial administration;
Supporting balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger reviews.
2. Dashboards, Reporting and Analysis (25%)
Developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards and data models;
Preparing periodic financial reports;
Producing revenue, cost, and margin analyses and reports;
Analyzing financial performance and variances against budgets and forecasts;
Supporting management reporting activities.
3. Process Improvement (20%)
Identifying opportunities to improve the efficiency of financial processes;
Supporting automation and digitalization initiatives;
Contributing to the optimization of reporting processes and internal controls.
4. Budgeting and Forecasting (15%)
Collecting and processing financial data for budgets and forecasts;
Supporting the preparation of financial projections and forecasts;
Monitoring budgets and identifying variances.
5. Compliance and Audits (5%)
Supporting internal and external audit processes;
Ensuring proper documentation and record-keeping of financial information;
Preparing and submitting VAT, ICP, and CBS (Statistics Netherlands) reports.
What You Bring
You have strong analytical skills, work accurately, and are energized by improving processes. You are able to translate financial information into clear insights and communicate effectively with colleagues at various levels throughout the organization.
In addition, you have:
A Bachelor’s degree (HBO level) in Finance & Control, Business Economics, Accountancy, Business Administration, or a related field;
Preferably several years of experience in a financial role; ambitious recent graduates are also encouraged to apply;
A solid understanding of financial processes and reporting;
Experience with ERP systems; knowledge of Infor, ISPnext, Prophix, or Coupa is considered an advantage;
Excellent Excel skills; experience with Power BI is considered a plus;
Knowledge of IFRS and/or Dutch GAAP is an advantage;
Good command of both the Dutch and English languages;
A proactive, independent, and results-oriented mindset.
