Customer Service Employee Warehousing

You’ll ensure that goods are processed correctly, that drivers can continue their journeys quickly, and that customers know exactly where they stand.

In this role, you’ll combine customer contact with logistics administration and hands-on work on the shop floor.

You’ll be working for an international logistics service provider where goods arrive and are dispatched on a daily basis. As a Customer Service Assistant in Warehousing, you’ll act as the link between customers, drivers, warehouse staff and other departments. You’ll enter data into the warehouse systems, keep the records in order and ensure that the correct information is available to everyone involved in the logistics process.

In addition, you’ll support colleagues on the shop floor with queries about goods and orders. You’ll welcome drivers at the drivers’ desk, check freight documents and ensure that the necessary paperwork and data are in order. If something doesn’t go to plan, you’ll investigate what’s going on and liaise with the relevant colleagues to resolve the issue.

Your duties will include:

• Processing and recording incoming goods in the warehouse system;
• Checking and processing freight documents and other logistics administration;
• Welcoming and assisting drivers at the drivers’ desk and providing them with the correct information;
• Supporting warehouse staff with enquiries regarding goods, orders and records;
• Answering queries from customers and colleagues and resolving issues in the logistics process;
• Monitoring the progress of goods flows and ensuring data is processed correctly.

You will work Monday to Friday on day shifts from 08:30 to 17:00.

Gevraagd

• You already have some demonstrable experience in a similar role within the logistics sector;
• You have strong communication skills and enjoy talking to customers and helping them;
• You are fluent in Dutch and/or English, both spoken and written;
• You are flexible, can cope with a hectic workload and are keen to develop your career;
• You work in a structured and meticulous manner and can keep a clear overview even when things get busy.

Aanbod

• A starting salary of up to around €3,200 gross per month based on a 40-hour working week;
• A travel allowance for commuting from 5 km one way;
• You will start on a temporary basis through Olympia, with the opportunity to be taken on permanently after a short period;

Waar je gaat werken

You will be working for a major logistics service provider in Venlo that specialises exclusively in cross-docking. Every day, more than 100 lorries drive in and out of the site. Around 35 domestic lorries handle both incoming and outgoing goods flows. In addition, around 18 export lorries depart daily for various European countries, supplemented by a range of other hauliers.

The site has around 70 docks and forms a key link in the logistics chain. Work at the cross-dock operates on a fixed three-shift system. Around 30 colleagues work together here every day. In total, there are around 100 employees working at this site.

Despite the size of the organisation, the atmosphere is informal and personal. People genuinely think along with you and your ideas are taken seriously. If something can be improved, it is discussed and often actually put into practice. The working environment is dynamic and sometimes hectic, so you need to be able to cope with change. At the same time, there is scope for consultation and the views of those on the shop floor are listened to.

The site is located in Venlo, a logistics hub in the Netherlands due to its proximity to the German border and excellent links to the A67 and A73 motorways. It is easy to get to work from Roermond, Venray, Horst and the surrounding villages.
