3D Printing Engineer

Do you want to work with advanced 3D printing technologies? We’re looking for a talented 3D Printing Engineer.

Function

In this role, you’ll play a vital part in managing 3D printing equipment and overseeing various printing assignments. From optimizing designs for printability to selecting suitable materials and conducting quality control, you’ll be involved in every aspect of the production process. Collaboration with printing experts and lead engineer ensures that prototypes and products meet the highest standards.

Specific duties in this role will include:

• Optimize designs for 3D printability.
• Operate various types of 3D printers and adjust settings as needed.
• Select appropriate materials based on project requirements.
• Conduct quality control throughout the printing process.
• Perform routine maintenance on printers to ensure optimal performance.
• Document print parameters and results for reference.
• Troubleshoot technical issues that may arise during printing.
• Collaborate with other engineers and production colleagues to streamline workflow and implement innovative solutions.
• Establish and maintain an online 3D printing library.
• Assist with feasibility studies for potential investment plans.
• Provide training to staff on printer operation and maintenance.
• Organize and oversee basic 3D printing needs across the company.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, Materials Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of two years of experience in additive manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software.
• Experience with software such as PrusaSlicer, Bambu Studio, or similar (Cura Slicer is a plus).
• Effective communication abilities in both Dutch and English.
