Vacatureomschrijving

As an expert in autonomous systems, modelling, control and simulation, you will remake the system architectures in order to expand these for a wide scale of industrial applications (a forklift, a weaving machine, a suspension in a car, …).

For research projects, you and your team will:

• Develop a new system architecture
• Address challenges in model-based optimal control, machine learning control systems, situation modeling and shared human/machine control
• Develop intelligent, self-learning supervision controllers
• Make designs considering the total cost of ownership
• Generate new research ideas inspired by new concepts
• Converting innovative ideas into project proposals

Addition roles for senior engineers:

• Take the lead in projects
• Coach and support younger researchers in your team

• Master’s degree or PhD. in Engineering (Modeling & Simulation, Control systems, Mechatronics, Robotics, Automotive, ...)
• Experience and expertise in autonomous systems and modeling, control and simulation
• Broad knowledge in machine and/or vehicle dynamics and motion control, modeling, algorithms control, system simulation, sensors and actuators, signal processing & instrumentation, …
• Experience in automotive is a plus.
