Are you ready to drive innovation in the field of automated vehicles and road safety? Join our Data Science team as a Data Analyst and Simulation Modeler, as we pave the way for safer and smarter transportation.

We focus on reducing traffic casualties and creating new concepts for automated driving. To ensure that automated driving is introduced on public roads in a safe and responsible way, it is essential that automated driving functions can handle all situations encountered on the road. In particular, automated vehicles should drive in a way that is predictable and acceptable to human road users, because they will share the roads for years to come. That is, automated vehicles should display good roadmanship and driving skills, including what it takes to interact safely and acceptably with other road users.

Your main job will be to process and analyze data from naturalistic driving studies and develop models of human driving, including decision making and vehicle operation. The models will using both in traffic and driving simulators and to created assessment methods for automated driving functions. You will be involved in designing new data collection studies, as well as in developing requirements for acceptable driving of automated vehicles.

• 2+ years of post-PhD work experience in fields such as traffic and driving modeling, civil engineering, or human factors.
• Demonstrated scientific orientation, as evidenced by (co)authorship of research articles.
• Proficiency in traffic and driving modeling and knowledge of vehicle automation.
• Familiarity with human factors and human-machine cooperation, as well as experience in programming traffic simulations in AIMSUN or VISSIM.
• Ability to engage with customers and stakeholders to understand their needs.
• Leadership capabilities to guide and mentor small groups of colleagues.
