Our client is active in the metal packaging industry for more than 25 years and has around 20 facilities and 6.000 employees worldwide. They are a technologically advanced packaging manufacturer in Europe for beer, soft drinks and food industries. In NL they are located in Helmond with 500 employees. They produce cans for beer. For them we are searching for a HSE Officer.. As HSE Officer you take proactive and reactive actions to ensure the organization is always in compliance to relevant legislation and codes of practices. To do this, you advise the organization about possible improvements to the production and working methods. You support in the implementation of Global HSE Standards at the plant. You liaise with managers, to ensure that all activities of employees and contractors are meeting all legislative requirements. Equally important, you make sure that everyone adheres to and is informed about the Health and Safety standards in the organization. This is supported by the appropriate training you provide. In this role you are member of the HSE team of 4 fte and you report to the Manager HSE .

As HSE officer you will be responsible for:
• Implementing possible improvements to the production and working methods, including the use of the plant, machinery, tools and the use of hazardous substances, the organisation of the workplace, environment, compliance to the applicable procedures and guidelines.
• Liaise with managers, to ensure that all activities of employees and contractors are meeting all legislative requirements.
• Check at an early stage to make sure any proposed new purchases within the organization satisfy the statutory requirements in relation to VGW.
• Ensure compliance via environmental monitoring that the organization is meeting with the requirements of environmental permits and Global standards and company-wide HSE initiatives such as ISO14001 and ISO45001.
• Analysing work situations based on the Risk Assessment & Evaluations (RI&E), the action plan is being executed and that necessary actions are carried out.
• Make sure that everyone within the organisation is in possession of the health and safety information necessary for their jobs, and paying special attention to newcomers (internal and external).
• Ensuring that employees are provided the appropriate training, regarding internal and external regulations about health, safety and environment.
. • HBO / Bachelor Degree or equivalent by experience in a HSE relevant discipline (HVK is preferred)
• Specific knowledge of HSE legislative requirements
• Several years HSE experience in a manufacturing environment
• Demonstrable knowledge of ISO14001 and ISO45001
• Excellent communication skills and able to work independently and meticulous.
• Good knowledge of Dutch and English language in speaking and writing
• Skilled in MS office . • A dynamic international team with enthusiastic people who work hard, but never lose human touch
