As the Director Purchasing and Assortment, you play a critical role in shaping the product assortment and ensuring the availability of high-quality products while optimizing costs. You bring extensive experience from a B2B trading environment, be a team player across departments, and excel in managing ongoing projects simultaneously.

You possess a sharp vision regarding the significant impact of the role within the organization. As a leader in procurement, you will be responsible for guiding a skilled and diverse team in Venlo in the South of the Netherlands and the offices abroad. Collaborating seamlessly across the company’s locations, you will spearhead strategic initiatives and engage in cross-functional cooperation with the purchasing teams of the RAJA Office companies in Italy, France and Spain to meet overarching business goals. Your leadership is expected to play a pivotal role in enhancing the overall profitability of the RAJA Office companies. This collaboration involves working closely with managing directors and their respective procurement teams across all company’s other business units.

Your tasks and responsibilities include, among others:

• Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive procurement and assortment strategy aligned with the company's goals and growth plan.
• Product Assortment Management: Oversee product assortment selection, development, and management to meet customer demands and market trends.
• Vendor Management: Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers, negotiate contracts, and optimize supplier performance, pricing, and terms.
• Cost Management: Implement cost-effective procurement strategies, analyze pricing trends, and identify and execute cost-saving opportunities while maintaining product quality standards.
• Team Leadership: Provide strong leadership to the procurement teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments, including Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Finance, to align assortment and purchasing strategies with overall business objectives.
  • Work closely with the Supply Chain teams and CSR colleagues to develop sustainability further and maintain quality standards.
  • Collaborate with an additional purchasing group entity on matters related to the core activities of the company.
• Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant industry regulations and compliance standards in procurement activities.
• Data Analysis: Utilize data analytics and market insights to make informed decisions regarding assortment and purchasing strategies.
• Continuous Improvement: Drive process improvements and identify opportunities for efficiency gains within the procurement and assortment functions.

Gevraagd

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Procurement and Supply Chain Management; Diploma in Procurement and Supply (DPSC) is a real asset;
• 10+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or merchandising leadership roles, ideally for consumables and investment goods;
• Proven track record of successful vendor negotiations, cost optimization, and assortment management;
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions;
• Excellent leadership and team management abilities;
• Effective communication and people skills;
• Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards;
• Proficiency in procurement software and data analysis tools;
• Fluent in English, French is preferred, and any other European language is an advantage;
• A minimum of 25% travel is expected.
