What are your responsibilities?

We are currently looking for an R&D Chemist with a specialization in polymer chemistry. Your main tasks will be to work closely with the research team to develop and improve innovative products. You will mainly develop products within the field of rubber compounds, thermoplastics and/or adhesives. Your responsibilities will consist of;

  • Initiate and lead R&D projects
  • Developing and improving products based on organic and polymer chemistry principles.
  • Conducting research projects and experiments to test and validate new ideas.
  • Analyzing quality data to identify trends and resolve issues.
  • Responsible for selecting the best quality raw materials and maintaining relationships with suppliers.
  • Conducting audits on suppliers and assessing their performance.
  • Ensuring quality and safety in the workplace.

It is your responsibility to ensure that the products meet the highest quality requirements and specifications.


What do we look for in a R&D Chemist (polymer science)?

For this position, you need to meet the following requirements;

  • Masters degree or PhD degree in chemistry, polymer chemistry or a related field.
  • Experience with product development and setting up research projects, for at least multiple years
  • Good knowledge of experimental design and statistical processing of results.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC).
  • Excellent analytical skills and problem solving skills.
  • Strong communicator and able to work well and present your findings within the R&D-team. English is a must, Dutch speaking is considered a plus.
  • Audit experience is a plus.
  • Important: it is a must that you are eligible to work in The Netherlands, candidates without a full working visa will not be considered

Salary and benefits R&D Chemist (polymer science)
  • It is a permanent position
  • Fulltime workweek of 40 h/week
  • Salary; €3800 - €4800 based on 40 hours per week
  • Extra benefits such as a end-of-year bonus, bonus-scheme dependent on performance, travel allowance etc.
