You and Your Job

As a Data Analyst, you are the primary contact with our stakeholders, who are largely consumers of the data in your data warehouse. You guide consumers in the usage of the data, validate new requirements from business stakeholders, and oversee the IT implementation of new initiatives. You represent customer and end-user concerns by gathering input from stakeholders to understand the problems that need solving. You may also help to identify potential areas of automation and support or advise the business in re-engineering the underlying business processes.


Practical Examples
  • You will take responsibility for data elements for their end-to-end usage across the enterprise.
  • You monitor and validate the data provided by your data warehouse against internal guidelines, ensuring BCBS#239 compliance.
  • Your role involves not just a single position but includes a network of people responsible for ensuring that all aspects of an effective data environment are being accomplished.
  • You will work closely with the Product Owner to help set the right priorities.
  • You ensure that Data Management is included in the backlog.
  • You will address various data-related issues and work on global and cross-functional change projects to improve our processes and systems.
Top Responsibilities
  • You will manage the monthly run process to ensure all finance & risk data is validated and timely available for internal stakeholders, allowing for timely reporting to the regulator.
  • You will collaborate with a business analyst to translate requirements into business rules for the decommissioning of our legacy systems and migrating towards the cloud.
  • You ensure that data elements and definitions are suitable for internal and external reports.
  • You define data requirements and contribute to project scope/objectives through research, fact-finding, and elicitation, maintaining a solid understanding of business, systems, and requirements. You will participate in testing changes against requirements and develop knowledge of business analysis and requirements.
  • You will support the migration of the on-premise data warehouse to the Cloud, including validation of data quality.
  • You represent the department and your team, acting as a liaison between regulators or business needs and the actual data. Work with business users to ensure they comprehend the data model and can leverage it to meet their needs.

ZZP Assignment Description:

1. Client Objectives

The Data Analyst is part of Chapter Data and works for Tribe Data Foundation within the Area Payments, Savings, and Ancillary services. You will be involved in the Finrep and IRRBB squads and work independently on items from the squad backlogs.


Deliverables:
  • Define the roadmap for IRRBB.
  • Gather data and validate against requirements for the roadmap for IRRBB.
  • Implement controls for the IRRBB run.
  • Define the roadmap for Finrep.
  • Gather data and validate against requirements for the roadmap for Finrep.
  • Coordinate the Production run for Finrep and IRRBB on the old warehouse.
  • Help improve data quality and provide ideas for BAs and DEV.
2. Desired Situation at Assignment End

The assignment is for 12 months, running from October 15, 2025, to October 14, 2026 (dates subject to screening completion). The results on the intended end date will encompass:

  1. Roadmap IRRBB = December 2025
  2. Gather and validate data IRRBB = May 2026
  3. Implement controls IRRBB = June 2026
  4. Roadmap Finrep = December 2025
  5. Gather and validate data Finrep = June 2026
  6. Coordinate the production run = Recurring every month until the assignment ends.
  7. Improve data = Ongoing.
3. Required Specialist Knowledge

The market for experienced Data Analysts is currently scarce, making it challenging to find suitable candidates. The Data Analyst must possess the following specialist knowledge:

  • Extensive banking knowledge and understanding of banking products and processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of finance and risk management and internal & (legal) external reporting.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills capable of translating business requirements into impacts on processes and systems.
  • Knowledge of data, domain expertise, and chain expertise, along with a (technical) affinity for databases, data warehouses, and SQL.
  • Understanding of data management concepts such as lineage, data quality monitoring, and issue management.
4. Directions for the SEE

The self-employed person operates independently while performing the agreed activities at their discretion and without client supervision. They must follow the guidelines of Chapter Data and Tribe Data Foundation, while the client can provide directives regarding the assignment results. Additionally, we expect the SEE to collaborate with current DAs to enhance their knowledge, reinforcing the coaching aspect.


5. SEE Role Distinction

The self-employed individual organizes their activities independently based on the squad backlog items. However, alignment with the Product Owner may occur as necessary for optimal process execution. More information regarding these activities and desired outcomes can be found in chapters 1 and 2 of this document.


6. Flexibility in Work Location

Yes, the SEE may decide their place and time during this assignment.

Hard Skills:

You should have at least a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or a related (quantitative) field.

You bring 2+ years of relevant banking experience within the financial industries sector.

Your strong analytical and conceptual skills shine through your expertise in databases, data warehouses, and SQL.

Knowledge of databases, data warehouses, and SQL is a must.

Effective communication skills in English, both spoken and written, are essential.


Working Conditions

This assignment allows for hybrid working, where you'll spend one day collaborating with the chapter in the office and another day with your squad.

The assignment is structured for 36 hours per week, distributed over 5 working days.
