Wesco Anixter will very soon open the doors of a brand-new distribution centre in Almere. • Proven knowledge of and experience with Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) is a hard requirement. You have experience with risk assessments (RI&E), inspections, contractor safety management, corrective action plans and ensuring on-site regulatory compliance;
• You have a bachelor’s level of thinking and working, for example in Facility Management, Building Engineering or Industrial Engineering & Management;
• You have at least 3 years of experience in a similar role as (Senior) Facility Manager, preferably in a distribution centre, warehouse or production environment;
• You have experience with facility construction and fit-out projects, preventive maintenance and repair management;
• You take ownership of compliance, QSHE and audits, and ensure a safe and compliant operation;
• You have knowledge of warehouse layout and design and think in terms of LEAN principles and operational best practices;
• You can manage budgets, make sound judgements on what needs to be repaired or replaced, and negotiate strongly with suppliers, contractors and landlords;
• You have an excellent command of both Dutch and English, spoken and written, and communicate effortlessly with employees on the floor as well as with international clients and stakeholders;
• You are hands-on, proactive and self-reliant, and available for 40 hours per week with flexibility for occasional evening or weekend work.

As Manager Facility you are involved from day one in building a brand-new Centre of Excellence in Almere: From this facility, advanced supply chain solutions are delivered for data centres and infrastructure, including technical kitting, integration, testing and value added services for customers worldwide. You are the central point of contact for all facility matters and ensure that the building, installations and work environment are ready for a fast-growing operation.

You are responsible for facility operations and for construction and fit-out projects, and you set up and manage preventive maintenance programmes. You review and advise on capital expenditure requests, including for building repairs, equipment and fit-out, manage the facilities budget and coordinate repairs and improvements with the landlord in accordance with the lease agreement. You work closely with suppliers, contractors and maintenance partners and leverage the group’s purchasing power for cost-efficient procurement. In addition, you have end responsibility for Health, Safety & Environment on site: you coordinate inspections, risk assessments and corrective action plans and actively build a strong safety culture.
