Volledige vacaturetekst

This is a unique opportunity for a young professional with a background in mining engineering or related technical degree (geology, metallurgical, processing, geophysics etc.) to join the MMF-EMEA team in Amsterdam (part of Commodities, Food & Agri Sector (CF&A)). ING is a globally recognised, leading bank in the Metals, Mining & Fertilisers sector.

MMF is a highly professional team, currently consisting of 17 people (based in Amsterdam/Frankfurt) and active in financing of (mainly) emerging market producers in the metals, mining and fertiliser markets. We are responsible for the origination and execution of a wide spectrum of credit solutions for our clients, who range from investment grade corporates to junior mining companies. The key focus of the team is to use its sector knowledge to select and develop a client base where we can deploy the bank’s capital effectively with a view to originate high value mandates across the Bank’s product offering (including debt arranging, project finance/advisory, debt capital markets, financial markets, and sustainable financing).

Our dialogue is not limited to credit solutions, but in addition includes topics such as decarbonization, new technologies, climate risks and environmental & social responsibility. The team cooperates closely with other MMF colleagues in New York, Singapore, and Brussels as well as other Sector teams and the many product teams within ING Wholesale Banking. Within this global network, we work as one universal team focusing on a wide range of commodities (Copper, Gold, Steel, Aluminium, Fertilisers, Battery Metals and other niche metals & minerals).

An Analyst / Associate position in the team involves frequent contact with clients, other banks, legal advisors and technical consultants as well as internal support functions such as Risk Management, Legal and Compliance. We are looking for a candidate who aims to use his/her technical skills and build on those, whilst mastering the financing side of the industry.

Tasks and responsibilities

In our team you will be assigned to a number of clients in the portfolio for which you have day-to-day responsibility.   • Supporting and maintaining client relationships;

  • Assisting in origination, execution and monitoring of transactions;

  • Preparing credit analysis, financial models and credit applications;
