Job Description
 

Dive into the heart of the semiconductor industry with a role that blends expertise, innovation, and communication at JIACO Instruments. We are on the lookout for an Application Engineer who not only possesses a deep understanding of our technological processes but also the ability to articulate these complexities in a manner that educates and empowers others. Your day-to-day will see you handling the entirety of the sampling process and serving as the technical beacon for our customers and research partners, guiding them through their challenges with solutions that speak to the technical superiority of our applications. You document your work in application notes which will be used to share with the stakeholders.

The ideal candidate for this position brings more to the table than just technical skills; they are the embodiment of enthusiasm for learning and development, coupled with an assertive, structured, and hands-on approach to problem-solving. Living in the vicinity of Delft is crucial as it allows for seamless collaboration with our team and for you to work at the lab with sampling. This role also comes with the opportunity to travel globally, approximately 10-15% of your time, allowing you to bring our technology and solutions to a worldwide audience and learning more about the subject.

Your journey with JIACO Instruments as an Application Engineer will be one of growth, challenge, and the chance to make a real difference in an ever-evolving industry. In return for your dedication and expertise, we offer a competitive salary ranging between €4,700 and €5,200, reflecting the critical nature of this role within our company and even an additional profit-sharing scheme. 

 

What will you do?
 
  • Understand Intricate Processes: Immerse yourself in the technology and processes of JIACO Instruments, gaining deep insights into our atmospheric plasma technology.
  • Create Application Notes: Develop comprehensive guides and notes that demystify complex technical processes for both clients and colleagues, ensuring our technology is fully leveraged.
  • Manage the Sampling Process: Oversee the entire sampling process from initiation to completion, maintaining precision, efficiency, and adherence to quality standards.
  • Serve as a Technical Beacon for Customers & the Service Team: Act as the primary point of contact for customer technical inquiries, providing expert guidance, solving challenges, and fostering strong relationships based on trust and reliability.
  • Document New Issues: Proactively identify, investigate, and document new challenges and solutions, contributing to the continuous improvement and innovation of our processes and technologies.
  • Engage in Continuous Learning and Development: Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements, constantly seeking to expand your knowledge and skills within the semiconductor field.
 

Required Skills & Experience
 
  • You possess an MSc in Microelectronics, Material Science, or Chemistry, ensuring a deep technical foundation for the role. 
  • You have 2-5 years of working experience, preferably in roles that have honed your technical and analytical skills. 
  • You have a background or affinity within the semiconductor field. 
  • You have experience with failure analysis, capable of identifying and addressing the root causes of device failures. 
  • You are fluent in English and possess excellent communication skills, both in verbal and written forms, enabling you to convey complex technical information clearly and persuasively.
  • You are eager to learn and develop, demonstrating a continuous desire to grow your skills and knowledge in the ever-evolving semiconductor industry.
  • You are customer-oriented, with a hands-on attitude towards addressing client needs and fostering positive relationships.
  • You are willing to travel around the globe for approximately 10-15% of your time, engaging with clients and industry partners to further JIACO Instruments' mission and reach.
