Cyber Security Manager

Take the lead in managing Cyber Security Compliance of our DAF products

Function description

As a Cyber Security Manager you ensure that Vehicle Cyber Security is properly addressed during the development of our products. PACCAR needs to comply with UN-ECE vehicle cybersecurity regulations R155 Cyber Security Management System (CSMS) and R156 Software Update Management Systems (SUMS). These regulations set high demands to the security level of our truck and its related services as well as all processes required to assure that the truck and services remains adequately secured during its economic lifetime. This requires DAF to implement appropriate cyber security measures in the design of the embedded systems and DAF IT systems.

Your tasks:

• Define the Cyber Security plans for product development projects in close alignment with Product Development, ITD, After Sales, Purchasing and Leyland Engineering.
• Determine the cyber security relevance and impact of project scope and engineering changes.
• Perform type approval impact assessments of SW engineering changes and SW updates within SUMS
• Facilitate in creation of Cyber Security Threat Assessment & Risk Analysis (TaRa).
• Support the development of the risk treatment validation strategy to provide evidence that the implementation achieves cybersecurity goals.
• Assess Product Development department’s deliverables and processes against the cyber security plan and report status and progress to Project Management.
• Work closely with the Vehicle Software Operations Center (VSOC) at After Sales to document Cyber Security incidents in case of attacks. Oversee and assist with updating TARA by factoring in the new risk patterns and assist in deploying an effective mitigation.
• Report Cyber Security incidents to the Technical Service and Type Approval Authority.
• Report Cyber Security assessment results and observations to ACE, CE and the Executive Director of the applicable Division.
• Annually report the effectiveness of DAF CSMS and SUMS to the Technical Service and Type Approval Authority.
• Organize training of involved engineers with the aim of raising awareness of rules and processes in the organization with regard to vehicle cyber security management, processes, tools and guidelines, known attack methods, control methods, etc.
• Maintaining Cyber Security processes, procedures and work instructions in scope of the Cyber Security Management System (CSMS) and the Software Update Management System (SUMS).

In this function, you will report to the Manager Standards & Homologation.

Department

The Homologation team consists of appr. 15 homologation engineering professionals responsible for all European engine and vehicle type approvals required to register trucks worldwide. The department ensures that DAF stays up-to-date with regard to future regulations by providing legal input for engineering projects.

Your profile

• Technical education on master level with a specialisation in CyberSecurity, mechanical-, electrical- or automotive engineering;
• At least +-5 years of relevant experience in CyberSecurity area; (in Automotive domain is a pre)
• Knowledge of embedded software and hardware -? know how it is being developed, you do not need to have developed software/hardware yourself
• Awareness of different protocols such as Telematics. OTA software update, consumer mobile app, vehicle API, etc. (and automotive standards ISO 21434 is a pre)
• Proactive and entrepreneurial personality is a must!
• Strong communicative and persuasive skills;
• Ability to collaborate across different groups;
• Highly proficient in spoken and written English;
