Airbus Netherlands B.V. Design Engineer

Location: Leiden, The Netherlands

Job Responsibilities:
- CAD design of Airbus Netherlands B.V. space products, particularly complex structures of Ariane 6 future European launcher.
- Develop CATIA CAD 3D models using CATIA V5, as well as product definitions for manufacturing of parts/assemblies.
- Design structure components and assemblies optimized in terms of weight, cost, performance, production/assembly requirements while ensuring highest safety.
- Liaise with Mechanical and Thermal engineering team, and other appropriate Airbus departments to come up with optimum design solutions.
- Participate and/or provide technical support during Design Reviews.
- Select materials and processes appropriate to each design element, in close collaboration with our Materials & Processes Engineering Team.
- Ensure final design allows successful integration of each design element with the product as a whole.
- Define and develop drawings needed for Interface Control Documents in close collaboration with Senior Design Engineer, Lead Engineer/Systems Engineer.

Requirements:
- Master Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace) with a strong curriculum emphasis on design engineering activities.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as design engineer, preferably in the aerospace sector.
- Minimum 5 years of experience using CATIA V5, within the last 10 years.
- Knowledge of classical and numerical (Finite Element) stress analysis methods is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite required.
- Team player with a positive & collaborative attitude.
- Good interpersonal skills, flexibility, and adaptability.
- Demonstrated a high level of problem-solving ability.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbal and written).
- Conversational in Dutch is a plus, but not required.
