Assignment

We have a monitor tool for our equipment. This monitor tool is capable to visualize events of our equipment. The general name for this is SCADA. The goal of this tool is to help the operator diagnose the impact / severity of an issue, dispatch people in the field to resolve the issue and to get the system up and running again.

This visualization of this monitor tool is quite conservative. At the moment it is a 2d representation of the system on a static client.

Can the present technologies like 3d modelling and/or augmented reality, mobility help in making a better monitoring tool?

The navigation in the framework is tab based. Tab based is a popular way of organizing content in user interfaces (UI). But are there more intuitive solutions for this?

The assignment for this student is to explore these questions and advise Vanderlande to introduce a new vision on this. A creative mindset is a pre.

Department
 

You will be working in the department called “Development Center Equipment”. Here we develop equipment and products for our customer. The monitor product where you will be working on is now used at several major Airport around the world.
 

You will be part of the SCADA team. This is a team with 6 SCADA experts working on this product. Three of them are located in Veghel and the other three are in Pune.

Responsibilities

• We expect you to deliver a mockup with your creative idea’s how new technologies can contribute to a better monitoring tool.

• Good communication skills.
• Able to create a functional mockup.
• Mandatory enrolment to a Dutch Education System & resident of The Netherlands.
