Volledige vacaturetekst

Empowering people to stay ahead in life and in business. We want to make the difference for people and the planet by providing a superior customer experience and putting sustainability at the heart of what we do.

To make this happen, we need solid data governance. Data about customers, products, agreements, transactions, and operations. In ING’s Global CDO (Chief Data Officer) organization, data is our heart. We ensure the bank can use data for decisions, reporting, analytics, modelling and much more because the data is of good quality, is managed well throughout the bank and that uniform policies and processes around our data apply. CDO is a global organization, with people working in Amsterdam, Manilla, Bucharest and many more ING countries.

We are with around 200 data management professionals working on our ambition: making sure data is being treated in a pragmatic, compliant and ethical way. This vacancy is in the Center of Excellence Data Governance but will work in the CDO Office in our Global Technology function.

As Data Governance Officer within the Global Technology Function, you will be responsible for supporting two domains. You will do this by driving data management topics in general e.g., installing data governance roles and responsibilities, ensure the domains’ data management compliancy, and creating value for the Technology Function by increasing the domains’ data consumption.

Furthermore, you will be the experts for the CDO Office team on data governance. In this role we envisage that you will support your colleagues on governance topics; train and educate and have a hands-on approach if required.

The opportunity- Data Governance Officer Global Technology

The Center of Excellence Data Governance is a dynamic team within Global Data Management, responsible for activities that support effective data governance at ING. It has a key role in supporting the ING global data management strategy. In this role you will support our Global Technology function in embedding the data governance practice in their organization (incl. data management frameworks, standards, and policies) and will be part of its CDO Office. You deliver continuous strategic Data governance support to our Chief Data Officer Global technology and provide your expertise to guide the technology function through the effective application of data governance.

As data governance officer, it is your responsibility to propagate ING’s data management strategy across ING global technology. You will further:

·expand, improve, and actively promote the data management strategy and particularly the data governance aspects related to technology.

·lead design, execution. and oversight of ING data governance frameworks, standards, tooling and policies, including for our Data Management Process Control Standard and Data ethics. With your strong foothold in the Global Technology function, you will drive improvements of these controls by bringing in a domain perspective on effectiveness.

·ensure that ING complies with data related policies, standards, roles and responsibilities defined at ING Group level and by our regulators (e.g., GDPR, BCBS239, ESG);

·translate policies and guidelines into actionable data governance activities (e.g. data exchanges, data traceability and data quality);

·guide and coach others in the field of data management (e.g. data stewards). You bring data literacy into ING technology.

How to succeed

We hire smart people like you for your potential. Our biggest expectation is that you’ll stay curious. Keep learning. Take responsibility. In turn, we will back you to develop into an even more awesome version of yourself.

·As data governance officer you bring data management experience and enthusiasm around data to ING. You further have:

·a passion for technology, data, and data governance.

·a university degree, preferably with a data (governance) background or in law / regulations / accountancy / IT and/or knowledge of DAMA-DMBOK.

·a minimum of 5 years’ experience in an area as mentioned above.

·the capability to master complex materials and translate them into understandable content.

·an excellent understanding of the English language; understanding of Dutch or Romanian is a plus.

·an outgoing personality: you can connect with many stakeholders and liaise easily.

·a self-starter mentality. A half word is enough to get you going
