Booking Experts is looking for Software Engineers who want to develop themselves further in building top quality web applications. You work with your team on a scalable and advanced all-in-1 reservation system that must be able to handle a lot of traffic at any time of the day. Booking Experts is the perfect place for beginners to learn the trade from colleagues with many years of experience, but we also have challenges for the most seasoned experts to sink your teeth into.

What are you going to do? 🤔

As a Software Engineer you work on scalable software solutions within our various products. This way you can work on our all-in-1 reservation system, our CMS and our App Store. You deliver quality and well-designed code that users and your colleagues can build on. You are also busy analyzing and solving complex problems throughout the stack. We also think it's important that you put your skills to the test to keep growing and learning.

You work in a small, independent team of approximately 3 people on a project. Together you decide what to work on. This is happening at a fast pace but we never work in a rush.

Who we are looking for 👀

You are a starter or have several years of experience. We are open to all levels. The most important thing is that you are eager to learn and have perseverance and an inquisitive attitude.

We also think it is important that you have completed a HBO or WO computer science study or have equivalent knowledge/experience. A good (basic) knowledge of programming languages is in your backpack. You are also aware of the developments in your field. When you still have a lot to learn, you are also busy studying by means of. books, podcasts and conferences. We work a lot with Ruby, so we think it's important that you can work well with it in the long run. If you have no experience with Ruby yet, you can learn this if you have experience developing web applications in, for example, PHP, Python, Javascript or Java.

You are open to feedback and insights from your colleagues and do not feel attacked if someone comes up with a different idea. You are able to have constructive conversations without getting bogged down in a discussion about who is right. As a junior you know when it is wise to involve colleagues in choosing a solution and you are able to clearly explain your problem statement. As a senior you understand the relationship of a project with other projects and you can advise your colleagues on a solution direction. When choosing a solution, you choose the solution with the best balance between technical and human interests.

We like documentation, but logic code is even better. Code is (much) more often read than written. That is why you write code that is clear to your colleagues. Finally, you are able to implement interfaces without losing sight of the user. You can use our component library for this. Our frontend team supports you with the implementation.

• Completed HBO or WO computer science studies or you have equivalent knowledge and experience.
• Independence --> As a senior you can carry out large refactors independently. As a junior you will also work independently on projects. Usually you do this in consultation with other colleagues, but usually the major part of the work is done by an individual.

Every day our team of experienced engineers works on a scalable and advanced booking platform for holiday parks. With us you will find specialisms such as backend, frontend, full stack and DevOps.

• Full-time employment of 40 hours per week with flexible hours.
