We are currently seeking a highly skilled and knowledgeable Oenologist to join our start-up winery. As an Oenologist, you will be responsible for overseeing the production, quality control, and development of a wide range of wines. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate wine expert to showcase their skills and contribute to the success of our unique wine domain (Sterreheim).
Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with our winemaking team to cultivate and maintain vineyards, ensuring optimal grape production and vine health;
2. Maintaining our bee colonies;
3. Managing all stages of winemaking, from pruning and harvesting to lab work, including fermentation monitoring, blending, aging, and bottling;
4. Conduct sensory evaluations of wines, distilled and mead, assessing their quality, aroma, taste, and overall characteristics;
5. Provide training to staff members on various aspects of winemaking, ensuring a consistent and high standard of wine production;
6. Assist in vineyard development activities, such as vine selection, planting, pruning, and pest management;
7. Offer wine consultancy services to clients, providing expert advice on wine selection, pairing, and cellar management;
8. Stay up to date with industry trends, advancements, and emerging practices related to winemaking techniques and viticulture;
9. Maintain detailed records and documentation of vineyard and winemaking operations;

Gevraagd

Requirements:

1. At least 10+ years of Experience of Oenology;
2. Hold a degree in Oenology;
3. Possess a “Vinifera Euromaster degree program certification”;
4. In-depth knowledge and experience in producing and evaluating wines of the world like; Austrian, Dutch, American, New Zealand, French, German, and Turkish wines;
5. Proven expertise in vineyard management, including vine development, pest control, and sustainable viticulture practices;
6. Proficiency in all aspects of winemaking, from harvest to sensory evaluation, blending, and bottling;
7. Strong communication skills, with the ability to provide training and consultancy services effectively;
8. Detail-oriented mindset, ensuring accuracy in record-keeping and compliance with industry regulations;
9. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment;
10. Flexibility to work outdoors and participate in physical vineyard activities;
